Westside uses drafting tools to ensure your system is design to the latest standards and guarantee its optimal performance.. We use a combination of:
Helioscope is an advanced solar design utility that allows us to design solar systems (both roof and ground mount) in any location. We use Helioscope primarily for more complex designs and where multiple solar arrays and more detailed electrical connections are required. We also use Helioscope to provide estimates of the system output so we can predict customer savings and integrate the solar system into the overall energy system including energy storage, generators and grid connections.
Nearmap provides reliable up-to-date aerial images and data that enables us to design your solar system to fit on your roof or in the proposed location with confidence that the system will meet the proposed concept. Using the images and data provided by Nearmap, we can provide a concept design prior to seeing your site.
Autodesk AutoCAD is the industry standard in engineering drafting and we have a drafting team that provide high quality designs for the more complex systems. We use Autocad to generate full detailed system designs to meet with other engineering design packages.
We double check estimates of solar system production using the PVWatts Calculator which is part of the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory and includes industry standard models of solar irradiation.
We have also developed our own internal tools to model your energy usage, energy savings and operating components. This allows us to predict how your energy system will react given any particular circumstance.
We employ certified electricians, electrical engineers and solar accredited designers to ensure that your system is designed to meet the most rigorous standards. We also have engineers with international experience and qualifications that ensure that we can offer the latest in technologies to ensure your system is the best it can possibly be.
We build business cases to support the design and engineering. For commercial applications these are typically custom business cases built using our in-house developed tools while we use industry leading software to produce business cases for residential customers. The business case we develop for you will show your return on investment and the amount you are estimated to save in the coming years.
